Only stat I ever care about is the win column... and Vick is 7-0 as a starter... pretty productive... not to mention he was still POTG w/ them ints

I dont put a lot of stock into college #s anyway. Prime example was Larry Johnson. The year he got 2000 yards, he had less than 250 yards total against iowa, mich, and ohio state. Its way too easy to pad your stats in college.

Larry did turn out to be pretty decent, but Diets will tell ya, anybody can run behind Willie Roaf.

doesnt really matter...he could throw for 1,000 yards in a game and run for 500 , with 15 passing TDs and no interceptions and people would still say he is overrated and a running back playing qb...by yalls standards there isnt a good player playing the game anywhere

stats just determine the amount of money you get when you turn pro!

I just like to bust your ba11$ a little bit gcdevil22, I think it's hilarious how defensive you get over your beloved Hokies, and the Vick family. You'd think you was kin or something!

no not really. Timmy Chang isnt exactly swimming around the money bin like Screwge McDuck. Your game has to be able to translate to the nfl level, but production is the most important thing when it comes down to deciding over two players that are rated very closely. That and a comparison of how a player fits into a particular team's scheme.

well if you want to get technical about it theres all kinds of factors that go in to it, strength of your opponents, type of offense, defense you run in college, and all the stuff you said and more, I didn't think I had to spell it out like that, but one of the most determining factors is if you produced in college, if you produce you get paid!

    Are you insane?

He isnt that good as of today, RIGHT NOW.

All these Tech fans are proclaming they have a Heisman contendor and reincarnation of Fran Tarkenton, when, in reality, all they have is a talent young man with a lot still left to prove.

Hes played in one hostile road environment, WVU, and lost his cool and acted like a fool.

He just isnt mature and experienced enough ot be considered with the Leinart's and Keller's and even Omar Jacob's.

    Re: Tech vs. Maryland

right, but producing big #s against duke and producing big #s against florida state(example) are two different things. All college players put up the big #s against lesser competition. Thats all I was pointing out with my larry johnson example.

Ronnie Brown didnt have half the production as Cedric Benson, but we saw that Ronnie got drafted higher.
